The beat 'em up genre is experiencing a noticeable surge, and Tribute Games has decided to build on this success by presenting its latest project set in the Marvel universe. The studio, which previously achieved recognition with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, has released another action-packed shooter inspired by 90s classics.

On December 1st, Marvel Cosmic Invasion was released—a retro-styled title in which Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Nova, and other superheroes team up to stop the cosmic threat of Annihilus. The project has already received initial critical acclaim and is off to a strong start with a score of around 80 on Metacritic and OpenCritic. Reviewers praised the game's old-school atmosphere and respectful approach to the genre's heritage, while citing its relatively short length as its main drawback.

Players also gave the new game a warm welcome, emphasizing that it looks vibrant, sounds compelling, and delivers exactly the thrill you'd expect from a good beat 'em up.
